Ethan's Cochlear Implant Surgery
Friday, January 10  and Saturday, January 11, 2003




Arrived at Children's Hospital Boston, Friday, January 10, 6:00 a.m.

7:00 a.m. Pre-op Area








Mommy's ready to take Ethan into the operating room



The anesthesiologist let's Ethan wear his stethoscope - Good luck Ethan!



12:15 p.m. Recovery room



Total time in operating room = 4 1/2 hours



Surgery went extremely well, and a bit faster than anticipated. We were expecting 6 hours.



Of course Ethan threw up on Mom in Recovery.



I'm awake now guys...







Not too thrilled to be there.



Friday, 2:00 p.m., Ethan in his room (with 3 other roomates)...a bit parched...



Get me out of here!



Ethan's new game was to stick his foot through the rails...on purpose.



Friday, 7:00 p.m., Finally a smile!  That's my guy.



Saturday, 11:00 a.m. Emmy and Daddy come to take Ethan home



Bandages came off at 9:00 a.m., Saturday



We are surprised at how little swelling there is



Dr. Roberson is a great sewer



These are like the stitches on a baseball Dad!


Emma plays doctor about 10 times a day at home, so she's in heaven!
