Back on his feet!

July 21st, 2007 by Johanna

We love that so many people are tracking Ethan’s counts! Today his ANC was 1500 . Thanks to all who keep checking in!

We don’t refer to weekends by Saturday and Sunday in our house…to us, they’re known as “”Family Days”. Today was the best Family Day ever! Em, Eliot and I went in to the hospital in the early a.m. to see Daddy and Ethan, and attend the monthly Dog Show at the hospital (Caring Canines)…Great time….

We then followed that up with a visit to the playground, as Ethan was “unhooked” from his IV pole… a rarity these days…

On Monday my goal for the week was to have Ethan back on his feet by Friday. Wednesday rolled around, and I succumbed to reality, looking at his current condition, knowing he wouldn’t be walking on his own by Friday. Thursday night he made it from his bed to the hallway, Friday from his bed down the hallway to the tub room, and Saturday, today, he played on the playground with Em and Eliot, pretend playing Ice Cream Stand, and playing hide-n-seek (walking)…He managed to climb up the stairs on the play structure, and very cautiously go down the slide.

I’ll update more Sunday night, when I get back to the hospital…but to summarize…he’s my SUPERHERO! he’s surprising us with his rebound, and he’s BACK ON HIS FEET!!! Check out the new pics posted at www.lentfamily.org

It is great to see the kids being kids. I knew he would be in that hallway by weeks end – I am sure behind every Superhero there is a Supermom :)

Han and Yan. So very happy to read about Ethans numbers. Seems these days it is all about the numbers. John goes to Riverview tomorrow to check his numbers. I absolutely loved the picture of your entire family , it was beautiful. I marvel at your children, their joy in being together and the love for one another that is so evident in each and every picture. As always are prayers are with you all . Much love……The Morrettes.

Superhero Ethan’s fans are cheering him. Hear the roar? I reiterate what the others have said about how delightful it is to see the kids playing together. The family photo says it all. To Yancy, Johanna, Emma, Eliot, Grammas Mary and Candy and all of Ethan’s support team: Keep on keeping on–you all are doing a wonderful job. Love, Dottie
