We need your Prayers…

November 29th, 2007 by admin

I would normally wait for Johanna to wite up what happened; or what is happening today but I couldn’t wait… because we need your thoughts and prayers. Ethan was alone, standing in the first floor bathroom when he got dizzy, so much so that he fell and bumped his head. Johanna, just out of ear shot, outside, was there just a minute or two after it happened, she found him on the floor. He apparently had a seizer and was limp on his left side. She called 911 and an ambulance was there to take him to the hospital. The kids got a ride in a police car to a friend of the families. I was able to meet them at Anna Jaques hospital in Newburyport where they did some tests and took a cat scan.

He was then taken by the same ambulance crew to Children’s. He came very close to getting a helicopter ride but apparently whey weren’t flying today, whatever that means.

Upon arrival at Children’s he slowly, ever slowly got use of his left side back and was in good sprits, coloring and watching Power Rangers; SPD the same season that we spend hours watching just months ago 6 floors up. They were going to do an MRI, which some of you know is bad, but since he was getting better they ruled it out. An MRI is bad in Ethan’s case because he needs surgery to take his implant magnets out of his head before its taken; but only for the length of the test, they are then put right back in. So all was good, I left to pick up the kids when I got another call saying that he was again loosing the feeling in feeling in his arm. Game back on, they are now indeed going to do the MRI. Not sure when. For now I’m home with Emma and Eliot, they are doing well.

In a few hours we’ll all leave here to pick up Mary at Logan.

Ethan will also be getting a LP later today. That is a lumbar puncture to make sure he doesn’t have an infection in his spinal fluid. He looks find, he doesn’t have a temperature, nothing but they need to run tests, many, many tests. We thought it was something we did, we thought it was related medication or fluids but it isn’t, and no one else knows what is, and now its coming back, will it get worse. I wish I know, it all awful. This is where I ask for your prayers. Don’t care who they are too. Just asking that you say one or two for him.

Thanks for reading and thanks all the help you have given me, Johanna, Ethan and the rest of the family over this past half year.

I will keep you up to date as soon as we hear anything; something I haven’t done at all over the past months.
